This tour itinerary suggested by the Siquijor Provincial Tourism Office are for those who love and enjoy boating and snorkeling in Marine Protected Areas of the Province to see the rich marine bio-diversity while enjoying sun and beach.
Caticugan Marine Protected Area is managed by the People’s Organization and its activities include kayaking, paddle boating, snorkeling and diving. Snorkelers and scuba divers will be able to see the beauty of the corals, giant clams, sea turtles, several kinds of fishes such as clown fish, and many other marine creatures.
This is a great site for snorkeling to witness amazing underwater scenery. A wide variety of fishes can be found particularly giant trevallies and barracudas, black tip reef sharks, giant clams and sea turtle. If sightseers can’t go snorkeling, they would still have the chance to appreciate the beauty of the marine life by taking a peek of giant clams and other little fishes during low tides.
It is the second largest marine protected area in the island which is an awardee of the Isla de Fuego MPA awards 2019 and also won Best Enforcement Team Award. This marine sanctuary was once wrecked by typhoons, but with the efforts of it’s administrators to restore the area, it has significantly recovered and improved.
Take the chance of seeing see turtles and different species of marine creatures in the pristine water of Tubod Marine Sanctuary. Situated near Coco Grove Beach Resort in San Juan, this marine sanctuary which has a beautiful underwater world is something one has to see.
Seashell Museum contains a world-class collection of seashells and marine life, all from the waters of the Philippines. Also included are educational exhibits and a colorful collection of worldwide marine life stamps adorning the walls. Seashell Museum offers tasty donuts and accepts dine in customers as well.
